Vegas 052909

Greetings from Vegas! I just got here an hour ago. Silly lady at check-in gave me a hard time. No worries, got the room and settled in. Now its off to the outlets. Maybe I can get some dollar dollars. Holler! Oddly enough, I'm not that tired and I drove all the way up. Well, Dan "H" was awake too, so I talked to him during the drive.

Vegas Treaty

So, this blog brought to you by dan "H". You know, that guy with the friend spotlight. Since Redmond is driving, I get to type his thoughts for him as he vocalizes sweet sweet blogworthy thoughts. Just an update, we're going to Vegas. Yesterday I was unable to blog due to the many errands and appointments I had to complete.

So Vegas Treaty. I tend to yell at Dan "H". In turn, he tends to yell at me. A lot. Not the kind of yelling friends would do, more like a mother yells at you. So the guidelines are:

1. When we reach the 15 north, I will cease this yelling debauchery.

2. If I, Redmond, yell at Dan "H", it will decrease one of my 13 slaps, as regulated by slap bet commissioner, Rich "Kouki" Shabanguh.

3. The length of this treaty will be for the duration of the trip, starting and ending at the same place on the 15. (The reason for this is so that Dan "H" can have an actual vacation.)

BYL (blog you later)

Ice Cream

Today I have an hour lunch. I got my lunch during my earlier break. So I decided to walk around and visit my Pac Sun friends. Thao wasn't there, so I cut my visit short. It's a tad warm today, so I decided on a little something something.

Take a looky:

& you can see cookie! No "ice cream" trick for me. LOL. I'll post up later about my "ice cream" trick theory.

Gifts

I got a text this morning from my buddy Ace. He went to SF and got me a sticker. I love trinkets/gifts/stickers. It doesn't take much to make me happy unless we are talking about shoes. LOL.

Bittersweet

Kanye West Featuring John Mayer "Bittersweet"

This song I feel has a close connection to me. Its like life written out for me a simplistic melody. You ask how so? Let's take a look at a couple of examples, shall we?

First and foremost, there's school. I highly dislike it but if I wasn't doing it, where would I be? Probably no where. Currently, I'm going through school, just to get a piece of paper. A piece of paper that says, "Hey, you made it!" It also says, "You're at the bottom of the ladder." As far as employment is concerned, not only do you have to have the proper schooling, but also experience. Which leaves new graduates at entry level positions, waiting for years to pass for this so-called experience. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, it's just disappointing. Just when you think you have made some progress in your life, you get weighed down by the new standard. In High School, the mentality was that, in order to succeed, one must have gone through enough schooling to earn that College Diploma. It is embedded into students' heads time and time again. Yes, it's true. When you finish school and get that diploma, it is possible to start a career and make a living. However, the odds of being successful with that diploma are not so good these days. In short, school, to me, is one step further to the path of disappointment. It allows a person to move up one step, only that step up leads to more steps. Oh well, that's life.

Then there's work. I always that thought if a person were to work hard, they would be rewarded. The reality of it, hard work can only get a person so far. Today, it's all about who you know and who they know. Networking is a big thing. It has its benefits. You scratch their back, they scratch yours. Blah, blah. I figure, if I could work/volunteer for a company, I could make it someday. Yes, I have met many people along the way, but at what cost?

Ehh... I really don't wish to further discuss the matter. I'm just ranting. Let's just leave it at that. I'm glad I had the time and opportunity to discuss my perspective with a certain head honcho. For now, I just have to say "No Mas" and go my own way. It truly does bother me because I love, LOVE, what I do but there's a "difference of opinion". Hopefully after Thursday things will be settled.

"Bittersweet, you're gonna be the death of me
I dont want you, but I need you,
I love you and I hate you at the very same time
See what I want so much, should never hurt this bad..."

Kanye Featuring John Mayer "Bittersweet"

Slumber

As of late, my sleeping habits have changed. I have become accustomed to a more nocturnal state. Sleeping in the day and causing a ruckus during the night.

I spent the majority of today sleeping in my room. Waking up early is something I find very difficult to do. Today, I'm going to try to switch up the routine.

Wish me luck.

No More

I would like to take the time to politefully resign from my Guest Relations services. I guess the proper protocol would be to leave a two weeks notice. More like two venues notice in this scene. We can close it up at that. Call it a Mission Failed because this is no Victory.

Starbucks Feedback

Today I was given the opportunity to show off my creative skills. I was asked by my co-worker, David Ristau to help form a constructive feedback letter to Starbucks, this is what came out, straight from the dome:

Dear To Whom It May Concern,

I would like to take the time to show my appreciation for the Starbucks Coffee Company Staff of the UTC Mall. From the moment, I stepped in, I was greeted by Bettina, Sarah, and Denny. It wasn't just a normal greeting, it was a warm greeting, as warm as a carmel macchiato. After waiting in line, I was helped by Bettina. She asked me, "How have you bean? You know like coffee bean! I laughed at her overly friendly attitude. I ordered a tall Carmel Frapp and Kash & Emberlin were behind the bar making my drink. As I was waiting, I observed how much dedication and focus it takes to concoct my beverage. It was as if they were two magicians forging magic, only it was in the form of liquid, liquid magic. I walked out of Starbucks, walking TALL, because I had GRANDE service, that I could rate Venti out of Venti Stars.

Quote of the Day 052409

So I'm working and I hear bits and pieces of a conversation. Obviously there is more to the story to explain the situation as a whole. BUT this one is too funny.

Quote of the Day: "...No, you know how I know I'm straight, my mom..."

Maiden Noir

"Maiden Noir has produced a nice lookbook for their Spring/Summer 2009 Collection. One just has to love the clean looks of the Seattle based brand, which produces their entire collection in Japan. Each piece can become a staple in the wardrobe and in the lookbook the brand nicely demonstrates how to mix and match their collection pieces. The Maiden Noir Spring/Summer 2009 Collection is in stores now." -High Snobiety

Maiden Noir offers quality selvage denim which is made in Japan *drools*.  The cut and sew portion features very simplistic designs which are aesthetically pleasing. Very clean, in my perspective. Maiden Noir's denim selection is very reasonable priced. Reasonable in comparison to the likes of Evisu Heritage, Sugar Cane, Dior & Iron Heart. Usually, selvage denim will retail starting at around $300, provided the buyer is not looking around for deals. On Maiden Noir's webstore, denim prices range from $230-$270. Raw selvage denim ranges from $230-235.

My buddy, Jamie got me into this brand. He really liked the quality of them and highly suggested them to me as I am a denim enthusiast. I saw these bad boys in person at Union LA. I really liked the craftsmanship, but passed on them because I had more shopping to do. Pricing, reasonable. Quality, awesome. Size/Fit, good variety. Future purchase for sure. I noticed that a couple of items were already sold out.

Peep game:
